About Dr Kiran Kumar

Dr Kiran Kumar completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and subsequently undertook specialist training, graduating with a Master’s degree in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2000. Since then, he has developed a broad and accomplished career, practising as a specialist Endodontist in India and Abu Dhabi (UAE) before relocating to Australia in 2010.

After several years working as a general dentist in Rockhampton, his strong commitment to endodontics led him to undertake the rigorous pathway of requalifying as a specialist in Australia. In 2018, he commenced the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Endodontics) program at the University of Queensland, completing his specialist training in 2020.

Dr Kiran has published peer-reviewed research and has lectured on endodontic topics both locally and internationally. With more than 25 years of specialist experience, he is highly skilled in managing complex and challenging endodontic cases, including dental trauma. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, having earned this distinction by examination in 2007.

Dedicated to the advancement of the profession, Dr Kiran contributes to endodontic education through his weekly teaching role at the University of Queensland.

Outside of dentistry, he enjoys the Australian outdoors—spending his time playing badminton and cricket, bushwalking, and enjoying quality time with his wife and two children.
