Meet The Educators
Dr. Jonathan Ng
BDSc (Hons), PGDip (Imp), MSc (Imp), FICOI
Dr. Jonathan Ng graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland and subsequently pursued his specific interest in dental implantology through postgraduate training.
Dr. Ng holds a Graduate Diplomate in Dental Implantology from the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology and a Masters in Advanced Dental Implantology with Aston University. Dr. Jonathan’s passion in implant dentistry is further supported by his Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has received extensive training from renowned leaders in soft and hard tissue reconstructions. Dr Jonathan lectures internationally and has been a keynote speaker for several symposiums, including being a KOL for various industry companies and speaking for industry companies such as 3Shape, Straumann, and Geistlich.
Dr. Jonathan is also an active member of several professional organizations including acting as the Federal President for the Australia Osseointegration Society (AOS).
Dr Peter LC Chen
BDSc Hons (Melb), DClinDent (Perio)
Dr Peter Chen is a specialist periodontist at the Brisbane Implant Dentistry and Perio Care. He graduated in 2007 from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours).
After working 5 years as a general dentist, Peter then initiated his specialist training in Griffith University, and completed his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontology) in 2015.
Peter supervises post-graduate students at the University of Queensland as a part time clinical supervisor. He is currently the President of the Australasian Osseointegration Society Queensland Branch.
Dr Amro Farag
BDSc MDSc(Perio) PhD DClinDent(Perio)
Dr Farag graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2003 from Cairo University followed by postgraduate training in periodontics in 2010. After moving to Australia in 2011, Amro commenced his PhD at Griffith University where he published several original papers, conference papers, and a book chapter in the field of tissue engineering of periodontal structures, and was awarded his PhD in 2016.
He was awarded Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics from the University of Queensland in 2020. Amro is a lecturer of periodontics and dental implantology at the University of Queensland. He is the current treasurer of the Australian Society of Periodontology Queensland Branch and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontology.
Outside of work Amro enjoys spending most of his spare time with his wife Yomna and his three kids, taking them to the beach and feeding farm animals.
Dr Ahmed Ali
Prosthodontist, BDS (UB), MDSc (UM), PhD (CSU), DClinDent (UQ), FAANP, MRACDS (Prosth)
Ahmed is a prosthodontist in private practice on the Gold Coast, with a Bachelor of Dental Science (2004) and a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from the University of Queensland (2021).
He has lectured at Charles Sturt University and the University of Queensland, published research in dental implantology, dental education, and prosthetic dentistry, and practiced in both Gold Coast and Canberra. An active speaker at dental events, Ahmed is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Academy of Australian & New Zealand Prosthodontists, Australian Prosthodontic Society, and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Having earned a speciality degree in Prosthodontics, Ahmed is one of few prosthodontists in the country with an additional PhD degree in dentistry. Dr Ali has served the community in both regional and metropolitan demographics with over 10 years international experience.
