About Dr Amro Farag
Dr Farag graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2003 from Cairo University followed by postgraduate training in periodontics in 2010. After moving to Australia in 2011, Amro commenced his PhD at Griffith University where he published several original papers, conference papers, and a book chapter in the field of tissue engineering of periodontal structures, and was awarded his PhD in 2016.
He was awarded Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics from the University of Queensland in 2020. Amro is a lecturer of periodontics and dental implantology at the University of Queensland. He is the current treasurer of the Australian Society of Periodontology Queensland Branch and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontology.
Outside of work Amro enjoys spending most of his spare time with his wife Yomna and his three kids, taking them to the beach and feeding farm animals.
